Top Dish (“we,” “us”) helps you find the best dish at restaurants near you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep data to the minimum the app needs to work. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
When you create an account (optional — you can browse without one). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and a user identifier from that provider. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email; that’s fully supported. If you sign up with an email address and password instead, we store your email address and a securely hashed password (we never see or store the password itself).
Anonymous session. When you first open the app we create an anonymous session identified by a random ID. It contains no personal information and lets the app work before — or without — you signing in.
Content you create. Restaurants you save, your checklist progress, and any dish votes or notes you add are stored with your account so they sync across your devices. If you send us feedback or report a problem with a listing, we store the report (its category, any text you write, and the app version) so we can fix the issue.
Profile photo (optional). If you set a profile photo, we store the image you choose.
Location (used on your device only). If you grant location permission, your location is used on your device to sort nearby restaurants and center the map. Your location is never sent to or stored on our servers.
We do not collect your contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
We use a small number of providers strictly to operate the app:
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: open your profile (avatar, top-right) → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and associated data — saved spots, checklist progress, votes, and notes — from our systems and removes your authentication record. This cannot be undone.
Top Dish is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our service providers under their security controls.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
